Why Does My Beta Fish Always Stay At The Top?

Alot of Betta's spend most of their time at the upper part of the tank. It also depends on the size of the tank. If you had a bigger tank I'm sure he would have plenty of room to explore. I have mine in a 10 gallon right now and 2 females in a 36 gallon and they swim all over the place. If it irks you so much spring for a bigger tank.
